HEALTH experts said the juice fasting trend is not the answer to losing weight, and there is no scientific evidence that suggests it improves health.
The juice fast – which promises body detoxification and weight loss – is when a person limits their diet to only vegetable and fruit juices and water from a few days to several weeks, focusing only on freshly made, unpasteurised juices.
However, a Ministry of Health community nutritionist said the trend distorts a normal balanced diet and slows down one’s metabolism.
